Malongo has been conducting a voluntarist policy on sorting waste since the beginning of the 1990s. This policy includes objectives on sorting quality, reduction of waste volume at source and the setting up of local recycling subsidiaries. Sorting waste is one of the priorities of the environmental policy of our production site, certified by the ISO 14001 standard since 2008.

1. Waste sorting was set up at our site in 1992. Sorting is subject to monthly tracking of the volumes generated. Investments have been made since 2002 to acquire four waste presses and set up a workstation to dismantle our coffee machines aimed at the general public when they come to the end of their life.

2. The collective recycling of our waste has been done in tandem with other companies in our industrial park since 2002. This initiative, a nationwide pilot scheme, is sponsored by Carros-le-Broc Business Club, of which Malongo is an active member. We have also developed specific recycling subsidiaries both for our production waste (flexible plastics, jute sacks, etc.) and our office waste (computer equipment, light bulbs, batteries, ink cartridges, etc.).

3. Our target is to reduce annual waste at source by 5%, recycle 85% of the gross weight of our waste, and set up local sustainable recycling subsidiaries for our jute sacks and our coffee films.
