Back in 1995; Malongo’s cultural policy began with the purchase of a large collection of items connected with coffee and since then it has continued to develop with :
- a regular participation in exhibitions on the theme of coffee, in particular with prestigious cultural institutions (MONUM, European and Mediterranean Civilisations museum ...)
- the regular acquisition of new items for its collection (old books, coffee grinders, engravings…)
- the support of any form of creation dealing with problems related to Malongo’s company policies or which uses coffee as its medium (Arthur Barrio installation, December 2005).
This policy expresses Malongo’s will to make known and share everything that is connected with the heritage of coffee. It will eventually lead up to the opening of the International Coffee museum, which will be in the heart of the Coffee Village, which is scheduled to to open in 2008.
